MASP Pain Family Day, 23rd Novemeber 2019

Penang Hospital organised the Pain Clinic Family Day in collaboration with MASP with the theme of “connecting hearts through pain management”. This annual event gathers chronic pain patients, their families and pain clinic staffs to support and bring together patients and their families from all over Malaysia to participate in the event. This event was organized by the Pain Team, Department of Anaesthesiology, Penang Hospital. 

Hospitals in the northern and southern region were invited and some of this hospitals participated in the event such as Hospital Seberang Jaya, Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun,Ipoh, Hospital Selayang,and Hospital Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Klang. The participants were both staffs and patients and they contributed to the event in terms of performances, games, singing and speeches. Total number of participants were 230. 

In conjunction with the theme, various activities were organised such as:

• Video presentation
• Zumba dance
• Choir
• Karaoke session
• Sharing session
• Games
• Lucky draw
• Performances

Among the highlights of the event was the Food Festival serving various kinds of authentic Penang cuisine such as ‘rojak’, ‘nasi lemak pandan’, nugget, sausage, assorted ‘kuihs’, ‘char kway teow’, ‘roti jala’, ‘mee hun’, ‘cendol’, ice cream and fruits.
